All students receive a skill-based evaluation before instruction begins. X-CEL uses the Woodcock-Johnson Mini Battery of Achievement (MBA) and similar testing instruments to determine each child's skill level by age and grade. The MBA measures the student's skill gaps and generates reports that are easy to read and understand.
The report generated by the MBA is used to develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP), a prescription for instruction to be received by the student. The instructor uses the IEP as a guide for instruction delivery. As a result, progress is made very quickly. In addition, building skills provides the student with the foundation for life-long learning, which is the key to future academic success.
